A busy weekend

We didn't have to go many places, but we were busy with the every weekend house cleaning. We added cleaning out some closets and organzing others. Then we gave the outdoor dogs their baths. We also picked up the bunk bed to use! It is a black metal one. Tracy let us have the use of a mattress as well. We will be getting it put together this week.

For recreation the kids have been reading, drawing, jumping on the trampoline, and swimming.
They also spent some time climbing the trees.

Here are just a few photos. Tasha all shaved up and Mia. The kids jumping on the trampoline and some first corn of the season pics.

Swim conference is done

I forgot my camera so no pics.... All that would have been seen would have been water splashing...

The Dolphins were 5th out of 8 teams the last time it was announced. Kaci took 3 out of 5 first places in her heats. Overall she never finished less than 6th place out of 8 teams. Usually in the top 3. Kali faired just as well. Her relays were not the quickest, but they did very well and finished over all in the top 6. Kali took a second place in the 50 yard breast stroke by only 7 hundreths of a second. We think it was just the way she hit the pad or that her arm was 1/2 inch shorter than the other swimmer who took first.

The conference started with warmups at 3 pm and races started at 4 pm. Kali finished her last event (event number 62) at 8:15 pm. There were 3 heats per event so a total of 186 races by the time girls were done. They did not swim all. Kaci was in 5 heats of the 186 and Kali was in 3. Five is the maximum number a swimmer can participate in. Then there were 2 more events after those.

It was a long hot night pool side but it is done and we are glad they did participate in swim team.

Our football player

Here he is. Kole Number 11 Football player! He had his first practice Thursday night and started very shy and embarrassed. I asked him which part he liked best and it was the passing the ball back like a quarterback and throwing and catching. His first scrimage will be August 23.
We now have practices every Tuesday and Thursday. We still need to get out and buy practice pants, practice jersey, shoes and a mouthpeice. Things they could have told me when we signed up. Instead, I have three days to get the stuff and we can't get them until payday. Oh well, it will work out.

Both girls are going to Swim Conference!

Kali and Kaci are both going to swim conference! They only took the top two times in each event. Kali was in the top two or the mixed medley, free style relay and breast stroke.

Kaci is in 5 out of 7 events. Yeah! Friday is conference and the last swim meet of the summer season.

Kali's B-day Party

Today Kali had a few of her good friends over to hang out in the pool and have a water balloon fight and squirt each other with squirt guns. It was rainy this morning , but then it all cleared out and she had a nice hot and humid day to celebrate.

Kali had her friends Alyssa, Abigail and Taylor over. They had a great time!
Kaci and Kole had a not so great time. As you can see below. They watched. Kali did not want them being a part of her party with her friends.

After swimming and other water games they all including Kole and Kaci enjoyed an ice cream cake with pretty blue and yellow flowers on it.

Happy Birthday Kali!!!!!

Today is Kali's birthday! She turns 12 today!

She can not have presents or cupcakes until her dad gets home from work. ha ha ha. That upset her just a little bit.

Kole, Kaci and I went out today to get their presents for her after Kole's eye exam. I know nothing like waiting until the last minute! But with swim meets on Saturdays and being busy or all together there was no time to sneak out and get anything. Besides that, it is a 30 minute drive to go shopping.

I will post pictures later after dad gets home.

The pictures are: Kali posing, Kaci and Kole with Reiko and Carmella, Kaci with birthday sign, Kali opening her card from us with money, Kali checking our her book on drawing people

Kali has taken up sketching and does a really good job except she was really having trouble with noses and mouths, so Kaci adn Kole got her a book to look at to see how to perfect that portion of her pictures. she does eyes really well.

She also received a sketch book, sketch pencils, a git card and money. Money is what she really wanted for a shopping trip with her friend.

Kaci made a really cute Happy Birthday sign for Kali also. We had twelve cupcakes. One for each year. This was after her favorite supper of lasagne and spinach leaves. Then we went for a dip in the pool. She is already trying to make a deal for next summer. What will I pay her a week to watch Kole and Kaci during the summer? hmmmm She suggested $10 a week. I think that is pretty good.... almost too little....

Sunny Sunday

This is Max William on the left. We hope to see him soon!

Yeah, it is sunny today! We have pumped about 3 inches off the pool. Boyd is putting in the posts for the step on teh deck for that project to be complete. The kids try to swim, but the water was WAY too cold.

Kali might have swimmer's ear. There was only a couple times we did not clear her ears out with alcohol so it is back...

Kole cleaned up his bedroom with no arguments about it. Kali cleaned up the living room and all have been helping me with laundry. It won't be long and we will need to get the bunk bed moved in and the twin bed moved out of Kole's room to make room for Max. We have the dresser already in there for him. We are getting really excited about Max joining us. I hope that Sweetpea does not spend the entire school year barking at him like she has done so far with Boyd and Kole.

Mia slipped her collar yesterday and she was so pleased with herself. She took off running and we went after her with the van. She hopped right in and acted like she should be there and was ready to go for a ride.
